Cartoons From 1989The last year of the 80s was a transition year for Andrew Wahl. Spring saw Andrew completing his work, under the pen name Theo Herald, for The (Snohomish High School) Arrowhead. At the same time, he did one quarter of cartooning for Everett Community Colleges student newspaper, The Clipper. Summer brought a move to Seattle and a change of direction, as Andrew and art partner Scott Stine formed Psycho Climax Studios to focus on comic-book projects. But by winter the editorial cartoon itch returned. A portfolio of mostly unpublished work from this period helped pave the way for a return to The Clipper the following spring, and an internship at The (Everett, Wash.) Herald. One of the cartoons in that portfolio, The Price Is Right [Archive No. 8918], would earn a second-place award in the 1991 Washington Press Association Excellence in Student Journalism competition. Additional cartoons will be added to this page as time permits.
