Cartoons From 1998
Returning from a broken hand that cut his 1997 production short, Andrew Wahl started 1998 with a regular Saturday slot on The (Longview, Wash.) Daily News editorial page. Unfortunately, 1998 would also be cut short, this time by the severe dislocation of the middle finger on his drawing hand. The better part of the next year and a half would be spent in a cast, and it would be more than six years before Andrew would start cartooning again.
A portfolio of The Foul Face of Terrorism [Archive No. 9819], Hanging On [Archive No. 9821] and When I Grow Up [Archive No. 9823] received first place honors from both the Washington Press Association and the National Federation of Press Women.
Might [Archive No. 9814] was reprinted in the 1999 edition of Pelican Publishings Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year series.
Additional cartoons will be added to this page as time permits.
