Title: “As the Sky Burns”

Review: So, yeah. Omen is coming. We don’t know who that is, or why we should care. But Omen is coming. In the meantime, the Legion is busy getting smacked around by a dad-bod-sporting, cosmic Hare Krishna. Say what? Not Paul Levitz or Keith Giffen’s best work.

Title: “Monarchs of All They Survey”
Synopsis: Princess Projectra and Karate Kid’s honeymoon on a paradise planet is interrupted by a royal relative looking for revenge.

Writers (plot): Paul Levitz and Keith Giffen
Writer (script): Levitz
Penciler: Pat Broderick

Review: These solo backup stories offer room for character development, but rarely do they have lasting impact.

Grade (for the entire issue): B-

Cool factor: Umm, well, errr … nope.

Notable: The “Legion Outpost Extra” includes the second installment of the Legion Constitution.
Collector’s note: According to the Grand Comics Database, there is a 95¢ Canadian variant of this issue. … According to MyComicShop.com, there is also a Mark Jewelers variant.

Character quotable: “Omen is coming, and only those who stand by me against him shall survive.” – The Prophet, because, in case you missed it, Omen is coming
