The Teen Titans race to save one of Kid Flash’s childhood friends from what appears to be magnetic demonic possession. A little rushed but still a solid outing from the regular New Teen Titans creative team of Marv Wolfman, George Pérez and Romeo Tanghal.
READSwamp Thing saves Matthew Cable and Abigail Arcane from an alligator creature, then frees them from giant, mutant worms. Beautiful art by Nestor Redondo keeps readers from missing Bernie Wrightson too much on this Len-Wein-penned tale.
READWulf joins forces with the Free Swordsmen’s Guild to save the city of Rama-Kesh from a magically induced drought. Another surprisingly strong outing from the Atlas (Seaboard) team of Larry Hama and Klaus Janson.

Writer Gerry Conway delivers a more-intimate-than-usual drama for the 1979 edition of this annual team-up, and he gets solid support from the journeyman art team of Dick Dillin and Frank McLaughlin.
READJack of Hearts saves capsized boaters before heading home for an eventual battle with an assassin named Jonathan Hemlock. This one-shot outing from Bill Mantlo – featuring nice art from Keith Giffen and Rudy Nebres – is a strong scene-setter issue.
READUnable to commit suicide, Deathlok finds himself back on the run from Maj. Simon Ryker’s forces. Writer/artist Rich Buckler delivers an innovative – albeit rough – dystopian gem.
READStorm, Kitty and friends head out for a night on the town and end up facing off against Caliban instead. This transition issue from the regular creative team of Chris Claremont, Dave Cockrum and Joe Rubinstein delivers some excellent character moments.
